Don MacLeod

When Don MacLeod died in February 2007, Joyce Scruton, Honourary Life Member of the CSCL, wrote this tribute for the Society’s newsletter.
Don was born in 1925 and lived his life in the Toronto area. He was employed by Bell Telephone and was an active member of the Cooksville United Church.
Don joined the Mississauga Leather Group in 1983 and was soon a member of the Executive Council. He was President for five years and later co-editor of the Bulletin. Don was well known for his covered buckles and lacing ponies. He is missed by all.
The Don MacLeod Belt Buckle Award was created in his memory by Paul Kitchener of the Mississauga Branch, presented annually for the best belt buckle; its first recipient, in 2007, was Nancy Durham, FCSCL.
