A Fellow who helped found the Society's Woodstock Branch and was the first CSCL member to make and teach leather masks. She taught the leather programme at Continuing Education for some fifteen years, feeding many new members into the Society, and demonstrated at the CSCL booth at the Canadian National Exhibition. Once its youngest Fellow, later its eldest.

Della Chynoweth

Della Bryant Chynoweth, the longest-serving member of the Society — she joined on 31 October 1978. Her mother had taken up leatherwork in 1957, and Della grew up lacing wallets at home. A member successively of the Norland Guild, the Toronto Guild, and Members-at-Large, she became the Society's Treasurer in 2006 and held the post ever after.

Edith Melchior-Hawkins

An accomplished leathercraft artisan of the Tillsonburg Branch and a member of the Society's Executive Council (1971–1972). A tobacco farmer near Port Burwell, Ontario, she trained under Robert Muma at Mumart Studios in 1955–56, won many awards, and taught the craft to newcomers in her home.

A Mississauga member who joined in 2013 and rose quickly to Fellow. Born in the USSR, he moved to Israel around the time of Perestroika and immigrated to Canada just before 2000; a robotics- and computer-trained IT professional. His prize-winning quiver took both the Robert Muma and Betty Heacock awards as a novice in 2013, and he went on to win Best in Show (2019, 2021) and Best Fellow (2021).

Fred Brown

An early contributor to the Society and a Fellow of long standing who taught turned-edge and skiving techniques and headed the Arts, Crafts and Hobbies building at the Canadian National Exhibition. The Fred Brown Award, for the best dyed article, is named for him.

Robert Muma

A Charter Member of the Society and, with his wife Dorothy, one of its founding figures; an early Treasurer and long-time chair of its Teaching Standards Committee. A world-renowned master bookbinder. The Robert Muma Memorial Award, for the best coloured piece, is named for him; his leather art is preserved online at mumart.ca.

Rod Martinez

Rodrigo Martinez, a member and competitor of the Society who showed a range of pieces — belts, a box, and a carved starfish among them — and won the Irva Ford Memorial Award for his moulded starfish at the 2011 Annual.

Ruth Haig

A registered X-ray technologist from Mildmay, Ontario, who studied leathercraft for eight years under Hamilton's Irva Ford. She earned her Associate standing in 1966 and her Fellowship in 1985, won the Weston Trophy across many years and the Michigan and Irva Ford awards, taught workshops on both sides of the border, and served the Society and the Artisans Guild of Hamilton in many capacities. She won the 2005 John Mather Award.
