Leathercraft group meets

The Woodstock Branch of the Canadian Society for Creative Leathercraft met April 19, at Springbank Public School. Mrs. Carol McLean, president, presided. Mrs. Clara Cavanagh, chairman of the council of fellows, came from Barrie to demonstrate and help with handbag assembly. The instructions proved to be most helpful. Among other things, Mrs. Cavanagh suggests using very little glue in the assembly stage. The finished bag, as a result, usually has a softer appearance.

Several members will be going to Weston, Ontario, Saturday, May 5, 1973, to attend the 23rd annual meeting of the CSCL Mr. Paul Bennett, executive director, Canadian Guild of Crafts, will be the guest speaker after dinner. The Woodstock Branch will have articles in competition for the Weston Trophy and for the display table.

The next regular local meeting will be Thursday, May 24, 1973, 7:30 p.m., Springbank Public School.
