City will host annual meeting of Leathercraft Society
The Woodstock branch of the Canadian Society for Creative Leathercraft was formed in March of 1968. The organization has a membership of 20 women under the leadership of Mrs. James Reynolds, president.
The local branch is honored to be sponsoring the annual meeting of the Canadian Society this year marking the 21st anniversary of its formation. The meeting will be held April 17 at Old St. Paul's Anglican Church. Craftmen will be attending from the six Canadian branches: Belleville, Hamilton, Barrie, Toronto, London and Woodstock. Members - at - large will also attend from all across Canada and the United States.
The organization endeavors to create an interest in leathercraft in the community and to assist interested people in learning the craft while increasing the knowledge of our own membership.
Last year we had workshops on lace-cutting, tray-molding, belt-making, three dimensional techniques on card boxes, the making of leather jewellery, handbag design, folded wallets, dyeing techniques, and making small articles.
