Certification

  • Associate of the CSCL 1970
Associate awards were presented to Dorothy Harwood, Carol McLean and Beula Reynolds by Clara Cavanagh, Chairman of the Council of Fellows. The register had held her only from the undated c. 1985 list.

She joined the Society in the mid-1960s and was an Associate from 1970. She was the founding President of the Woodstock Branch on its formation in 1968 and served as the Society's President from 1978 to 1980, among many other executive offices held between 1968 and 1993; she was Vice-President in 1974 and 1977, the 1974 list printing her as Mrs. B. Reynolds. Her work won Craftsman and Salon awards from 1969 into the 1990s, among them a Craftsman Award in 1986. She was named an Honorary Life Member at the 37th Annual Meeting in 1987, after chairing that year's Nominating Committee and serving as President of the Woodstock Branch; the minutes of that meeting print her name as Beulah Reynolds. She was later named to the Society's roll of Ontario Volunteer Service Award recipients. She showed one piece in the Society's exhibition at the Craft Gallery and Resource Centre of the Ontario Crafts Council, 346 Dundas Street West, Toronto, 2-28 March 1976; two pieces at Leather '78, the Society's exhibition at the Etobicoke Civic Centre, 550 Burnhamthorpe Road, November 1978; and four pieces in the Society's exhibition at the Etobicoke Art Gallery, 4-29 September 1992. She made a square for the CSCL Leather Quilt. She showed three pieces at Leather 2000: Fifty Years of Leather Art, the Society’s exhibition in the Grand Hall Gallery of the Woodstock Museum, 466 Dundas St., 20 May to 17 June 2000 (Brown Leaf Tray; Pencil Holder - Black & Red; Card Box - Block).
