The Society’s records

Everything the Society’s own records say of Joan Cake: the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won. Where the records are silent, so is this part of the page.

Branch

Toronto · member since 2005

She is named in the Society's own report of the 2006 Annual at Burlington, hosted by the Hamilton Branch, among the members who carried off the afternoon's major prize draws when almost everything else had gone to Norland.

From Spring 2006, page 5.

Where this comes from

Joan Cake is named in the records of the Canadian Society for Creative Leathercraft, the society of leather crafters founded in Toronto in 1950 that taught, exhibited and judged its members’ work until it closed in 2025. Its newsletters, papers and photographs are kept in this archive.
