Where this comes from

Life and work

In Ken Boroski's own words, from the artist statement and biography he supplied for the brochure of the Society's Leather 2013 exhibition.

Background
He started leatherwork in 2001. After riding in the mountains of Arizona he ripped his chaps on the rough terrain; the trail boss repaired them with an initialed and stamped round patch, glued and hand sewn over the rip, and his leatherworking career began.
Work
He mostly did western leatherworking, such as holsters, saddles, breast collars, chaps and belts, but had also made sword scabbards, fly fishing rod and reel cases, purses, and “pretty much anything in leather”. His greatest joy in leatherworking was producing a specific piece for someone and having them fully appreciate the finished product and use it as it was meant to be used.
