The Society’s Records
Cathryn Bonis
← People of the Society · on record 1957–1989
Everything the Society’s own records say of Cathryn Bonis — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.
Standing
Life Member 1989
Certification
- Associate of the CSCL 1957
The election notice prints the town as “London, Ont.”. The notice itself gives the surname as Bonis, matching the c. 1985 list; an earlier misreading here as “Boris” is corrected. - Honorary Associate of the CSCL before 1989
Of London, Ontario, an Associate of the Society from 1957, she was presented with a Life Membership at the 22nd Annual Meeting in 1972 and later recorded as an Honorary Associate by 1989.

Honours
- Life Membership 1972
Presented at the twenty-second Annual Meeting, which the Barrie Branch hosted on 22 April 1972. The newsletter records it in one sentence — “Cathryn Bonis was presented with a Life Membership, and two new Fellows, Jessie Little and Gladys Riddell were welcomed” — and says nothing of the citation. It is the earliest Life Membership the archive holds after the Honorary Life Fellowships of 1962, and it is not the same class: the 1962 awards were Honorary Life Fellow Memberships conferred by the Executive Council.
