Life and work

He was not a member of the Society: he demonstrated at the 11th International Assembly of Leathercraftsmen, Flint, Michigan, in 1965. These lines come from outside sources, named under each.

Background
An Ohio leather artist (1918 – 10 June 2002), known for realistic wildlife pictures painted on mission-grain leather. He took up leathercraft after watching a woman make moccasins on a river bank in Ontario, and after a 1950s visit to Tandy and Craftool, where he met Al Stohlman, taught large weekly classes at home.

Work
From 1967 to 1983 he toured art and craft shows in the southeast and Midwest of the United States. He spent 16 years as a visiting craftsman at Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri, which gave him its Craftsmen Hall of Fame Award in 1988, and he sold a 30 by 40 inch eagle picture to Busch Gardens, Florida.
