Evelyn Hammill

← People of the Society

Everything the Society’s own records say of Evelyn Hammill — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.

One of eleven people at the informal 1948 meeting called by Edith Roscoe at 53 Avenue Road, Toronto (predating the Society's 1950 founding) to discuss leathercraft standards, original design, and the need for a wider organization. The account names her alongside Ray Potter "from Lewiscraft" (a Toronto craft-supply retailer named elsewhere in the archive); whether that describes both of them or her alone is not settled by the sentence. A “Miss E. Hamill” of Lewiscraft was also at the Society's founding meeting, 8 June 1950.

From Spring 1975, page 3.
