Iiva Limberg-Villmann

Everything the Society’s own records say of Iiva Limberg-Villmann — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.
A Toronto member whose leatherwork appears three times in the 1952-53-winter newsletter: her studio was among those shown to visiting California craftsman Nila Joel (p2); her leather guest book with a Canadian Coat-of-Arms in “Esthonian technique” was presented to the Shoe and Leather Fair’s honorary president, the Lieutenant-Governor (p6); and the same piece placed 4th in the Fair’s public preference poll among many entries (p7). The newsletter prints her given name as “IIva” on page 2 and as “Iiva” on pages 6 and 7; the Spring 1953 list that elected her prints “Iiva”. Each is set out here as its own page prints it. Whether she is the Irva Villman recorded as a CSCL Associate in 1953 is unsettled: that name is printed with an r in the primary 1953 naming article.
From Winter 1952–53.
