Everything the Society’s own records say of Melba Fisher — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.
Of the Detroit Leathercrafters guild. Before her 1957 CSCL Salon Honorable Mention for the portrait “Land of Make-Believe,” the same piece had already won the grand sweepstakes prize at a California Hobby Show (1955-summer p7); her work was again singled out among the highlights of the Detroit Guild's exhibit at the Third International Assembly, 1956 (1956-summer p8). The Society's own subject index also credits her with a technique article, “Do You Know Your Modelling,” Vol.4 #4 p.7 (named in the index printed on 1961-fall p8).
From Summer 1955, page 7.
