Artwork was a lifelong interest from childhood; in 1976 she met the manager of a Tandy Leather store who influenced her future art pursuits, then had a 17-year graphic arts/advertising career. She developed her own leather-sculpture style, producing an almost holographic, three-dimensional appearance in her carved pieces, and shared her sculpted work with the blind so they could "see" it by touch. She won numerous U.S. awards including the Al Stohlman Award for 1997 and Best of Show at the 1998 IFLG convention. She was welcomed as a brand-new member from Illinois in the Winter 1998-99 newsletter, joining the Mississauga branch -- described by Bill Whittingham as the first new member he recruited through his Internet activity. She donated six Doodle Pages she designed to the Society's archives for use as teaching tools, and is remembered among the leathercrafters whose work filled the Annual displays. She showed four pieces at Leather 2000: Fifty Years of Leather Art, the Society’s exhibition in the Grand Hall Gallery of the Woodstock Museum, 466 Dundas St., 20 May to 17 June 2000 (Free Form Vase Sculpture; Teddy Bear Photo Album; Exotic Leather Purse; Carved Contour Belt & Agate). She designed six Tandy Doodle Pages (Series 6E) and wrote articles and patterns for The Leather Crafters Journal and The Leather Crafters & Saddlers Journal from 1992 to 2005; the Doodle Pages and the pieces up to 1998 came before she joined the Society (see Members in print on the Links page).
