Leather covered screws

Screw heads covered in leather, tried in April 2014: “I tried covering screws with leather and like the result ... It may work better for snaps. Screws will be harder to screw in.” The leather tended to slip on the metal, so it had to be dyed first and then glued; Paul Kitchener suggested white glue such as Weldbond, which won't soak into the leather, and sanding the screw top to help it hold. The maker's own e-mail, “leather covered screws”, 24 April 2014, and Paul Kitchener's reply the same day.
