This award was established by her family in 2005, in memory of Betty Heacock. The Best Leatherwork made by a
Novice Member is awarded for craftsmanship in leatherwork displayed at the Annual Convention. Adjudicated by the
CSCL Fellows, the artwork demonstrates the ability to produce good craftsmanship such as various techniques
including tooling, carving, colouring, construction, stitching, lacing, moulding, etc..
