Mother, daughter win prizes in CNE handicraft competition

The Hamilton Spectator ("Spectator Staff"). No date on the clipping: late August or early September 1971, during the C.N.E. - Mrs. Jonasson made her parents-in-law a bowl for their golden wedding (1920-1970) "last year", and Irva Ford is national president. Newspapers.com has the same article on page 50 of the Spectator of Saturday 7 August 1971.

Summary

A Hamilton Spectator feature on Marie Jonasson and her daughter Karen, who won three of the sixteen leatherwork prizes in the C.N.E.'s women's handicraft competition at their first attempt, two years after joining Irva Ford's adult-education class at Westdale Secondary School. It describes what they made and what leather cost, Mrs. Jonasson's other crafts, and Mrs. Ford's account of how a member reaches Associate standing, and ends with the other Hamilton-area winners in the women's division.
