Volume XV No. 2 Winter, 1965

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

[The title prints a clean space between "A" and "MESSAGE"; read here as an underscore, the same fault seen on other all-caps titles across the archive, and restored.]

This issue of "Canadian Leathercraft", as you will have noticed, is three issues in one. This has been done to keep the Volume numbers consecutive. Our retiring Editor, Mrs. Margaret McFarlane has found it increasingly difficult to fit into the number of hours available all the tasks required of her, and so has had to give up the job of Editor of "Canadian Leathercraft" after struggling against time for quite a long while. We have appreciated Margaret's efforts during her term as Editor, and hope she will take the opportunity of a rest in her retirement.

With our increasing C.S.C.L. membership, it is not easy to catch up with the talents of newer members, but we have managed to catch up with one in the person of our new Editor, Mrs. Gerry Mills of Weston, Ontario. Although not long a member of C.S.C.L. Gerry is a very enthusiastic member of an active Weston leathercraft group. She brings to the Editorship journalistic experience which dates back to her school days when she was high school editor. Her first job, during the war, was working in the publications department of National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa. After marriage, she became involved with Home and School and edited a monthly bulletin, later working into the social department of the Woodstock Sentinel-Review. Moving to Brampton, Gerry transferred to the newspaper there where she worked as a general reporter until moving to Weston.

Gerry has many ideas for "Canadian Leathercraft" and realizes the work which must go into it to make it a really worth-

while part of C.S.C.L. membership. We hope all members will back Gerry Mills and contribute to "Canadian Leathercraft" in any way possible.
