Irene Surgenor

← People of the Society · on record 1952–1953

Everything the Society’s own records say of Irene Surgenor — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.

Also recorded as Irene Surgener

Certification

  • Associate of the CSCL 1953
Contemporary corroboration: `1952-53-winter` p7 names her among exhibitors at a Cornwall-area show, and `1953-spring` p8 lists a carved handbag ("Petunia" design) entered under her name at Cornwall in a scored competition table; `1954-spring` p7 credits her demonstrating gusset construction at a travelling exhibition. All three read at plain transcript resolution, no magnification needed — the name is not in dispute, only the c.1985 list's date needed a contemporary source.

An Associate of the Society from 1953 and its Eastern Ontario Representative that year, she exhibited at Cornwall-area shows in the early 1950s and demonstrated gusset construction at a travelling exhibition in 1954.

From Spring 1953, page 2.
