I. Lacing Part
Workshop Leader
Lauch Harrison has worked with leather for 20 years. He is a Associate Member of the CSCL and has demonstrated and done workshops for the the Society and General Public. Lauch likes to put tools to leather and will have some ideas on how to put some leather remenants to good use

Hole Makers -- Round Scratch Awl
Buckle Heel Bar with round appearance
Lace maker/ Beveling Jig/ #86 Splitter/ Round Punch/ Punch Pad/ Glazed Goat Skin/ white glue/ lace conditioner

Spanish Type Buckle Covering of Two Loops, Spanish Type Buckle Covering of One Loop. As taken from Leather Braiding by Bruce Grant. Lace Cutting and Beveling.

II. Stitching Part
Harness Stitching - Hands On Demonstration
Demo will show Harness Stitching techniques, Concentrating on the use of Pricking Irons. Discussion about different methods of pricking. Types of stitch thrown vs not thrown
Workshop Leader
Sean Dalgetty has worked with leather for 25 years. He is a Fellow of the CSCL and demonstrated and done workshops for the the Society and General Public. Sean has an affinity for Harness Stitching and has trained with a Cordwainer College trained mastercraftsman.
Materials & tools used in demonstration and supplied as workshop loaners.
Thread & Wax, Harness Needles
Hole Makers - Awls diamond, round, oval curved,
Stitch Markers - prickers, stationary shoulder frames and carriages, pricking wheels, overstitch wheels, pricking irons.
Channel Cutters -- compass race, channel gouges, channelers, creasers
Stitch Horse, table top pony seated pony, clams, loop clam
cutting/ poundo board
Techniques Discussed or Shown
Harness stitch, Butt stitch, Back stitch, use of Channelling on front and back, appropriate thread & needle sizes for stitch length, choosing the proper awl.
Hands on Project
sewn belt buckle with keeper loop. Sewing round box if time allows
