Meeting Minutes

February 13, 2020

Meeting held at Paul’s Office, Mississauga

Attending Members: Karen Weber, Bob Pfister, Gregory Belenky, Eugene Pik, Richard Borrow, Jim Wilkes,
Paul Kitchener, Lester Pinter, Kim Winchester.

Meeting Minutes from January 9, 2020: Accepted as presented. Moved by Bob, Seconded by Karen,
approved by all.

Treasurer’s Report: No report this month.

Membership: No change at 17 members.

Communications: Knotty Linda is working her way across Canada doing workshops on braiding. [The next passage, from “Ideal class” to “this work shop.”, is struck through with a ruled line on the sheet; the italic line after it takes its place.] Ideal class
size is 6 to 8 people. For those who are seriously interested, please let Jim Wilkes know as soon as possible.
so he can organize this event. Tentative dates are May 31 or June 7th. Jim is looking into the fees and details
of this work shop.
We are sorry to inform you that Knotty Linda (Linda Brown) will not be able to connect with us this time but
Jimmy will let us let us know if she is coming back this way.

Lauch is inquiring about interest in participating in the Acton Leathertown 1 day event in mid August 2020.
This is an opportunity to sell your leather work. Should anyone be interested, please let us know.

Tentative M.S.C.L. Workshop dates:
1. Sewing with sewing machines – lead by Karen Weber - Messenger bag–Saturday April 25, 2020 – 10
to 4pm
2. Quirt (short Whip) part 1- core ; part 2- Braid over core – lead by Lester Pinter – June13 & 14, 2020
3. Gloves – lead by Kim Winchester – early September 2020

Old Business: none

New Business:
The Annual Meeting is set May 8, 9 & 10 at the Vistors Inn Hamilton. Reminder to all - we need to be working on projects
for the Weston trophy. Should anyone be applying for the Associate membership or Fellowship, please let the Fellows
know so they can assist you with your articles.

To make our monthly meetings meaningful, we need your input on workshop ideas. Lester has suggested making key fob
in the shape of little revolver and cowboy boot. These workshops only need to be 45 minutes. If there is any skills
questions, this is our forum - so please don’t be shy.
