Meeting Minutes

Meeting held at Paul’ Office, Mississauga
Attending Members: Doug Schavo, Eugene Pik, Cam Doell, Lucie Tremblay, Karen Weber, Richard Borrow,
Elizabeth Gyuran, Barry Taylor, Jim Wilkes, Paul Kitchener, Lester Pinter, Kim Winchester
Meeting Minutes from September 12, 2019: Approved as read. As moved by Paul, seconded by Barry and
approved by all.
Treasurer’s Report: Accepted as presented. As moved by Kim, seconded by Cam and approved by all.
Membership: We currently have 17 members confirmed. Membership cards have been distributed today.
Communications:
Julie Duval is selling her father tools. Some photos were sent out in the email to the M.S.C.L. members. We
had a computer available for those who were interested to see all photos of tools for sale. I will share Julie’s
phone number to those who wish to contact her directly. She lives in Sudbury, so please consider how you will
ship your purchases home.
The “Wearable Art Show” on October 24 – 26 2019. Karen and Elizabeth are heading up organizing this
event. Elizabeth & Eugene will set up on Thursday. The Gala is on Thursday evening. On Friday, Paul and
Richard will be manning the table. Paul may have some items to demo. Kim will be scheduled for Saturday
with Jimmy. Lester will be there in the afternoon. Karen will be close by should we need any help. Karen will
make arrangement for the VIP passes for our free attendance.
Karen will be at Balls Falls Craft show Friday October 11 to October 14. It will be a great weekend to get out to
see the fall colours. Ball’s Falls Conservation Area, 3292 Six Avenue, Hamilton, ON
Balls Falls Thanksgiving Festival is a 4 day event being held from 11th October to 14th October 2019 at the Balls Falls
Conservation Area in Hamilton, Canada. This event showcases products like drilling, filing, polishing, carving, tumbling,
sterling silver, gold-filled, copper , gift basket etc. in the Consumer & Carnivals, Gifts & Handicrafts industries.

Workshops are in discussion. Norland will be having a workshop on October 19 - tool sharping, and braiding.

Next meeting Thursday November 14, 2019, 6:30pm at Paul’s office
Workshop this week shall be making a leather Christmas card. Please bring, tracing tools, carving tools /
Stamping tools, punches/pricking iron, lace, lacing needles, waxed thread / needles.
