Report for Judging
Virtual Annual Competition
May 23th, 2023 On Google Meet at 7:30pm

To the Council of Fellows -Regarding Judging the 2023 Annual Virtual/Photo Competition

Present: Lauch, Karen, Kim,
Call to Order at 7:38

The Virtual Annual Competition was opened April 18 and closed May 18, 2023. Karen, Kim & Lauch met
on a zoom call on May 23, 2023 to discuss and judge 10 of 12 entries submitted by three General Members. One
entry was not judged as it had been previously entered and one entry was for interest only.

The paucity of entrants did not dissuade the judges from deciding to award 5 Craft Ribbons and 4 Salon
Ribbons. The high quality of the entries allowed the Judges to give out the Muma Award for Tooling and Colouring
- $50 and Best in Show - $50 to Greg Belenky for his Art of Alphonse Mucha Wallet. Greg also was awarded 4
Craft Ribbons and 4 Salon Ribbons. Julien Jans was awarded Craft Ribbon for Love Letter Envelope.

Scoring as follows out of 10
Art of Alphonse Mucha Wallet
9.97 Craft and Salon
GregBelenky
Birth of Venus Wallet
8.33 Craft and Salon
GregBelenky
Abduction of Psyche Wallet
8.67 Craft and Salon
GregBelenky
Evening Mood Wallet
9.33 Craft and Salon
GregBelenky
Love Letter Envelope
8.33 Craft
Julien Jans

The limited number of member entrants, less then three and the entries themselves made awarding prizes
in other categories unfeasible. The photos of the work were a joy to look at and of good quality. The amount of
detail in the photos allowed Karen, Kim and Lauch to judge many aspects of craftsmanship and make their
determinations.

Thanks
Lauch Harrison FCSCL
