Pearl Kolb

← People of the Society · on record 1969–1970

Everything the Society’s own records say of Pearl Kolb — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.

Also recorded as Mrs. J. Kolb, Mrs. Jacob Kolb

Of the Frontier Leathercraft Guild (Buffalo/FLAG). Besides her 1970 Craftsman Award (brown purse), she was one of five members — with Huldy Gutekunst, Sadie Roebuck, Dorothy Harwood and Kay Cloughley — appointed to the Advisory Board that judged and chose the 1970 Craftsman Awards, selecting 34 articles from 197 on display at the combined 20th Annual Meeting and 16th International Assembly (1970-spring p3). A year before that her handbag with the luggage handle took a Salon Award, and her box with black, yellow and green onlay, her brown morocco pocket secretary and the same handbag took Craftsman Awards. The 1969 lists name her in the married style of their day — “Mrs. Jacob Kolb” in the Salon list and “Mrs. J. Kolb” in the Craftsman awards, both FLAG — and her own given name is printed in neither; the 1970 newsletter prints it Pearl Kolb.

From Spring 1970, page 3; Summer 1969, page 4; and Summer 1969, page 6.
