WESTON TROPHY JUDGES COMMENTS 2012

MISSISSAUGA

Whip
There is a lot of leather in this piece. Good to see the cracker is replaceable. It is functional at both ends. It works. Wow, does it work!
Gary Cook

Coasters
Good fine colouring. Stitching is fine. Nice display. Large size is good to protect the table. Has an interesting variety of leather on the backs.
Rob Phister

Saddle
This is a good working saddle. It is a clear improvement over last year's saddle.
Ken Boroski

Black and red bag
A beautiful design. Very impressive. Highest scoring piece of the day.
Karen Weber

Brown and copper bag
Nicely designed with nice interior. Rivet setting could be improved. A mismatch in the colours of the hardware.
Verginiya Kecheliev

HAMILTON

Scrapbook
Well planned for thickness when full. Nice combination and continuity of colours.
Kristi Grove

Sheath
Belt loop is on an angle for better fitting on the hip. Stitching on the back a little irregular. Nice and sturdy.
Rob Regan

Wallet
The adaptation of a manufactured interior is interesting. There is some irregularity on the lacing. The carving shows fine detailed work.
Lester Pinter

Mask
This item is very heavy with paint. There is not a lot of sturdiness in the handle. Would like to see more of the leather.
Laurie Lloyd

Bridle
We assume it is large enough for the horse — a large horse. The piece is well done.
Craig Gill

Mississauga average 80.4%, Hamilton average 72.8%,
