Call to Order

By Lauch at 7:36 p.m.

Minutes of the Last Meeting(s)

Motion by Lauren that the Minutes of the Last Meeting (Oct. 29, 2021) be accepted as read by Lauren. Seconded by Kim. Carried.

Business Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting

a) COUNCIL OF FELLOWS Meeting: tentatively via Zoom on December 3 per Lauch.

b) AWARD WINNERS SHOW AND TELL: TBD with consideration of the audience/time zone/detailed
invitation with RSVP/use of short PowerPoint presentations.

c) RETAILER 5 MINUTE GUEST SPOT began at 7:50PM joined by Elycia SFA, Membership and Program
Manager at Craft Ontario. Founded in 1976, with 1,000 members today, her PowerPoint presentation
described CO as an excellent way to connect with the craft community through their
shop/studio/gallery/craft awards/member services. Q&A: Our Affiliate benefits mainly are: listing in Craft
Flash and Directory, Citizens of Craft, discounts in Studio magazine & membership fees. She will email
insurance coverage contact info to Lauch. Della showed the CSCL Library copy of Studio, Winter 2021.
Lauch thanked Elycia on behalf of the Executive who appreciated her visit.

d) ONGOING EXECUTIVE LIST OF INTERESTING LEATHERCRAFT RESOURCES: Lauren emailed 3 Canadian
sites: tribalspiritmusic.com, hidesinhand.com, ontariowaterbuffalo.ca. Jim added

e) Executive is encouraged to add book reports/YouTube to CSCL website/Facebook to draw viewers.

f) Della mailed (total postage $5) the SEA LEATHER WEAR SKINS to Branch Pres/MAL Rep.

g) “Safety Rules for Workshops and in person meetings”: no work done; Lauch may try to take from existing

h) A December Executive Meeting is tentatively set for December 17 due to convenience of Zoom, otherwise
the next meeting is Friday, January 28, 2022.

Reports

a) 1st Vice President – Jim Wilkes – No Report.

b) Council of Fellows – Sean Dalgetty – No Report. See (a) above.

c) Treasurer’s Report – Della Chynoweth – no changes.

d) Newsletter – Barbara Chynoweth – her Nov. 24 email requested small filler/tips due December 8, 2021.

e) ECO – Eugene Pik – Lauch thanked Eugene for joining to setup Zoom.

f) Membership – Kim Winchester – list is up-to-date.

g) Library – Paul Kitchener – No Report. Lauch thanked Kim for the duplicates list last month.

h) Workshop Program – Lauch Harrison/Jim Wilkes/Lester Pinter – exploring fish skin ideas. See (f) above.

i) Privacy Officer – Lauch Harrison – No Report.

j) Correspondence, Sympathy Cards – Barbara Chynoweth – no report.

Branch Reports

Hamilton–Lauchlan Harrison–met to work on cases and mitts; studied the fish leather.

Mississauga–Jim Wilkes–No meetings. The pandemic continues to deter planning.

Norland–Barbara Chynoweth–No meetings.

MAL–Lauren Malec–Lauren emailed All MAL a photo of the fish leather she received; New Brunswick was shipped with a free new Flex Frame Closure by Lauren. David and Lauren made a hatchet sheath pattern.

New Business

Lauren is available to help all CSCL Craft Ontario Award winners submit the paperwork to collect this award.

Motion by Kim to adjourn. Seconded. Carried (8:55 p.m.).
