Executive Meeting

Call to Order

By Lauch at 7:35 p.m.

Minutes of the Last Meeting(s)

Motion by Lauren that the Minutes of the Last Meeting (Oct. 1, 2021) be accepted as read by Lauren. Seconded by Jim. Correction by Lauren: add Paul to Absent. Carried.

Business Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting

a) COUNCIL OF FELLOWS Meeting: TBD for November re: Rules for Virtual Competition Entries.

b) AWARD WINNERS SHOW AND TELL: TBD and via Zoom to all Members potentially held on Tuesday’s.

c) Inaugural RETAILER 5 MINUTE GUEST SPOT began at 8PM joined by Kristi, Tundra Leather. “Tundra is
busy and has new stock (leather colours, antique/black hardware, 3 pdf patterns online), new POS, will be
adding more photography to its website for easier ordering.” Executive were happy to meet Kristi and
wished Tundra Leather all success.

d) ONGOING EXECUTIVE LIST OF INTERESTING LEATHERCRAFT RESOURCES: no October updates

e) Executive is encouraged to add leathercraft content to CSCL FACEBOOK.

f) Della will mail the SEA LEATHER WEAR SKINS to Branch Pres/MAL Rep. for Online Workshops.

g) “Safety Rules for Workshops and in person meetings”: in progress

h) Info session by Elycia, Membership & Programs Manager, Craft Ontario: November 26 Exec Meeting; Q&A.

i) The CSCL glass case(s) are unknown, not together and not needed now. Lauren reported that there is only
unsupervised art exhibit space at some London Public Libraries. Their policy has a waiver.

j) CSCL Library: Kim sent an Excel file that shows duplicates; 235 extra copies exist.

k) Small Library distribution to Branches: to be held at distant (2023?) future physical CSCL gatherings.

l) CSCL Website: Lauch corresponded with the new MAL, Julien Jans, New Brunswick. Lauch will follow-up
on a Contact Us (September) inquiry who asked how to work with vegan leather (scoby).

Reports

a) 1st Vice President – Jim Wilkes – No Report.

b) Council of Fellows – Sean Dalgetty – No Report.

c) Treasurer’s Report – Della Chynoweth – Bank balance is $8,220.58.

d) Newsletter – Barbara Chynoweth – next deadline is December 8, 2021.

e) ECO – Eugene Pik – the Contact Us and Membership Form are working.

f) Membership – Kim Winchester – new Member-At-Large.

g) Library – Paul Kitchener – No Report. Discussion. See (j), (k) above.

h) Workshop Program – Lauch Harrison/Jim Wilkes/Lester Pinter – exploring fish skin ideas. See (f) above.

i) Privacy Officer – Lauch Harrison – No Report.

j) Correspondence, Sympathy Cards – Barbara Chynoweth – no report.

Branch Reports

Hamilton–Lauchlan Harrison–met to work on knife cases; plan to finish the decorative work prior to meetings to save time and accomplish leathercraft on own.

Mississauga–Jim Wilkes–No meetings. Plans for January per Paul.

Norland–Barbara Chynoweth–fundraised $200 by selling pies for their Branch during car show weekend!

MAL–Lauren Malec–Lauren’s Western Fair, Virtual Competition, Mixed Media entry. Welcome new! MAL in NB.

New Business

Della has Phyllis’ estate: a large supply of leathercraft tools, leather, exists for future CSCL consideration.

Motion by Barbara to adjourn. Seconded by Della. Carried (9:00 p.m.).
