Executive Meeting

Call to Order

By Lauch at 7:38 p.m.

Minutes of the Last Meeting(s)

Motion by Kim that the Minutes of the Last Meeting (February 24, 2023) be accepted as read by Lauren. Seconded by
Barbara. Carried.

Business Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting

a) In-person AGM and Judged Competition — At the Visitors Inn on June 2 & 3. Invite to follow via email/mail. Friday
afternoon workshop start.

b) The Virtual Annual Photo Competition will open April 18 and close on May 18. Invitation will be included in the
next Canadian Leathercraft and sent to all Members via email. See the attached invite.

c) Friday/Saturday Workshop will allow indepth two-day projects. TBD as well as costs/fees. Ideas wanted.

d) Advertising in Craft Ontario Newsletter (CraftFlash) and website is free. Lauren will send Lauch a draft.

e) 15 MINUTE GUEST SPOT: Lauch will invite Greg Belenky for the future.

f) EXECUTIVE LIST OF INTERESTING LEATHERCRAFT RESOURCES: nothing new.

g) Anything new inside CSCL?: website/Facebook (FB), book reports/YouTube: elktracksstudio.com FB has new
carving content.

h) Tool Sales: Send listings to the Editor for publishing in Canadian Leathercraft, as well as an all-Members email.

i) Correspondence: nothing new.

Reports

a) 1st Vice President — Jim Wilkes — No report.

b) Council of Fellows — Sean Dalgetty — No report.

c) Treasurer's Report — Della Chynoweth — No changes per Barbara.

d) Newsletter - Barbara Chynoweth — Barbara is starting the J-F-M-A newsletter and is still accepting articles.
April 15 deadline.

e) ECO-Eugene Pik — No report.

f) Membership — Kim Winchester — No changes. Notice will go out soon re March dues.

g) Library — Paul Kitchener — No report.

h) Workshop Program — Lauch Harrison/Jim Wilkes/Lester Pinter — ties in to the AGM workshop request for ideas.

i) Privacy Officer - Lauch Harrison — No report.

j) Correspondence — No report.

Branch Reports

Hamilton-Lauchlan Harrison-Met and getting organized.

Mississauga—Jim Wilkes—Long wallet by Kim started; will meet April 5.

Norland-Barbara Chynoweth-Met last Saturday and worked on jewellery including fish skins; will meet April 15.

M.A.L.-Lauren Malec-Nothing new.

Adjournment

8:12 p.m. when Zoom expired. Rejoining was successful for Lauch, Jim and Lauren for an additional 30 minutes.

Cash Prizes and Awards

For Best in Show ($50) Best Moulding, Best Tooling or Colouring (Robert Muma Award $50),
Best Hard Sculpture ($20), Woodstock Heritage ($50). Best Novice, Student, General Member,
Associate Member, Fellow Awards and other Categories as deemed necessary.

Members can only enter one Competition
Criteria for the Virtual Leatherwork Entries

If you enter this Competition, you cannot enter your pieces for prizes at the AGM Competition.
Competition Opens on April 18, 2023

Entries close May 18, 2023 at midnight.

Entries are free.

Open to all members in good standing.

Maximum of articles/item per Member is 5

Minimum of 4 photos per item. Photos must show all sides/angles

Photos must be in focus

300Kb Minimum size

Explanation/Description of each piece less than 50 words would be appreciated. Especially if
difficult and hidden aspects can’t be shown.
