Minutes of the Last Meeting(s)
Distributed and dispensed with reading of Minutes of the Last Meeting (November 25, 2022).
Business Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting
a) In-person AGM is a go, hosted by Hamilton (the 2020 host). Lauch will check availability of Visitor’s Inn,
Hamilton (403 & Main St.) on the June 2-4 weekend. Branch Presidents to discuss all June preferences/2-
day program with respective members and report back to the Executive. Possibility exists to keep the
Virtual Competition to garner interest of non-attendees alongside traditional judging but will require new
rules by the Council of Fellows.
b) 15 MINUTE GUEST SPOT: Lauch will invite Greg Belenky for the spring or late winter.
c) EXECUTIVE LIST OF INTERESTING LEATHERCRAFT RESOURCES: Lauren added Alden’s School of Leather
Trades website in Oregon, U.S.A. for his closeup videos of tooling and narration of smaller scale carving

d) Anything new inside CSCL?: website/Facebook, book reports/YouTube: no report.
e) Tool Sales: Barbara will publish member lists in the newsletter.
f) SAFETY RULES FOR WORKSHOPS: no report.
g) Clutch Purse Workshop in Norland: Barbara will look for photos.
h) Correspondence: Lauch replied to a Cornwall, ON and a Hamilton, ON inquiry forwarded by Eugene from
the website.

a) 1st Vice President - Jim Wilkes - No report.
b) Council of Fellows - Lauch Harrison - No report.
c) Treasurer’s Report - Della Chynoweth - No changes per Barbara.
d) Newsletter - Barbara Chynoweth - J-F-M-A newsletter will be out in April. All Branches are required to
contribute news to Barbara.
e) ECO - Eugene Pik - emailed Lauch, forwarding website inquiries. See (h) above.
f) Membership - Kim Winchester - No changes.
g) Library - Paul Kitchener - No report. Discussion re-visited the topics surrounding duplicates, storage and
the future of the library.
h) Workshop Program - Lauch Harrison/Jim Wilkes/Lester Pinter.
i) Privacy Officer - Lauch Harrison - No report.
j) Correspondence - See (h) above.
Branch Reports
Hamilton-Lauchlan Harrison-Met twice. Getting organized. Discussed shoes, boxes, lasting.
Mississauga-Jim Wilkes-Kim interested in attending space at Hamilton Branch workshop as available by Lauch.
Kim’s glazed fish leather wallet insert found to be difficult to bend.
Norland-Barbara Chynoweth-Met last Saturday. Worked on Clutches, more and cleaned. Barbara is making
moccasins. All working on fish leather. Next meeting 3rd Saturday of February.
MAL-Lauren Malec-See the S-O-N-D Issue of CANADIAN LEATHERCRAFT for several M.A.L. articles. Lauren
has 5 fish skins and working on ideas.

Zoom expired approximately 8:30 p.m. and Lauch, Barbara, Kim and Lauren re-joined. Adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
