Of Hamilton, an Associate of the Society by 1958, he served as the Society's Publicity Chairman on its Executive Council in 1960 and as the Hamilton Branch's Programme Convener, and on the Society's Council and Executive Council in the early 1960s; he wrote an article, 'Making a Binocular Case,' for the newsletter, won an International Assembly Salon Ribbon at the 9th Assembly, Rochester, in 1963, and demonstrated decorating with gold at the 15th International Assembly, London, Ontario, in 1969.
