Helen Newton

← People of the Society · on record 1982–1988

Everything the Society’s own records say of Helen Newton — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.

In memoriam · reported at the 39th Annual Meeting, May 1989

Named by President Ruth Haig alongside Mary Whately and Gel and Lorna Brigden — "our regards are extended to the families of Helen Newton, Mary Whately, Gel and Lorna Brigden" — in the 39th President's Report. The other three are named in full in the Summer 1989 newsletter's own obituaries notice, which names only "three Toronto Branch Members" and does not mention Helen Newton by name; not the same person as Jean Newton, who died in 1985. No further detail found.

From 39th Annual Meeting 1989 — programme, Nottawasaga Inn, Alliston.
