Rex Lingwood
← People of the Society · on record 1971–1976
Everything the Society’s own records say of Rex Lingwood — the offices held, the standings conferred, and the awards won — gathered on one page. Where the records are silent, so is this one.
His work won the Canadian Guild of Crafts' Best Decorated Leather award at the C.N.E. in 1971, a Canadian Handicrafts Guild Competition First Prize in 1973, and further honours at Leather '74 and '76, including a Design Canada Craft Award Honourable Mention in 1974. He showed three pieces at Leather '74, the Society's exhibition at the Toronto Public Libraries' Learning Resources Centre, 666 Eglinton Avenue West, Toronto, 3-28 June 1974, and three pieces in the Society's exhibition at the Craft Gallery and Resource Centre of the Ontario Crafts Council, 346 Dundas Street West, Toronto, 2-28 March 1976. He wrote Leather in Three Dimensions (1980) and the introduction to the leather section of Canada Crafts in 1977 (see Members in print on the Links page).
