Executive Meeting

Call to Order

By Lauch at 7:43 p.m.

Minutes of the Last Meeting(s)

Motion by Lauren that the Minutes of the Last Meeting (Nov. 26, 2021) be accepted as read by Lauren. Seconded by Jim. Carried.

Business Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting

a) COUNCIL OF FELLOWS Meeting: five met January 26 via Google Meet. Fellows set the Virtual Annual date
as May 11 with an April newsletter and email announcement by Barbara of all entry rules information.

b) AWARD WINNERS SHOW AND TELL: no volunteers. Lauch will survey and suggests to introduce this
concept to the Membership at the Annual.

c) RETAILER 5 MINUTE GUEST SPOT: TBD and needs consideration.

d) ONGOING EXECUTIVE LIST OF INTERESTING LEATHERCRAFT RESOURCES: Kim adds there are free
“Doodle Page” downloads on the Tandy website.

e) Executive is encouraged to add book reports/YouTube to CSCL website/Facebook to draw viewers.
Barbara suggests A Different Kind of Zebra (Kawartha Lakes, ON) as an example for selling informally online
through a gift shop.

f) SEA LEATHER WEAR SKINS received by Branch Pres/MAL Rep.

g) “Safety Rules for Workshops and in person meetings”: in progress.

h) CRAFT ONTARIO AWARD: not awarded by CSCL at Virtual Annuals per the Fellows.

i) Requests for Library Materials and Patterns: Copyright discussion. Non-member loans of books not
allowed however existing pattern pdf's can easily be emailed as any new vetted public interest is welcome

j) Attaching Members Websites to CSCL Website: oversite rules. No problem if links are purely leathercraft
plus respective Branch President is expected to supervise regularly for compliance and relevancy.

Reports

a) 1st Vice President - Jim Wilkes - No Report.

b) Council of Fellows - Sean Dalgetty - Lauch reports (a) above.

c) Treasurer’s Report - Della Chynoweth - no changes. Membership renewals coming in March and must be
paid in full to enter articles for judging at the Annual.

d) Newsletter - Barbara Chynoweth - the next newsletter is in April. Content needed and welcome.

e) ECO - Eugene Pik - no changes.

f) Membership - Kim Winchester - no changes.

g) Library - Paul Kitchener - No Report.

h) Workshop Program - Lauch Harrison/Jim Wilkes/Lester Pinter - exploring fish skin ideas. See (f) above.

i) Privacy Officer - Lauch Harrison - No Report.

j) Correspondence, Sympathy Cards - Barbara Chynoweth - no report. Lauch reports receipt of an email
request from U.S.A. and Kim will help reply based on (i) above.

Branch Reports

Hamilton-Lauchlan Harrison-No meetings.

Mississauga-Jim Wilkes—No meetings. Eugene described his success grinding/sanding a sewing machine needle to aid seam allowance.

Norland-Barbara Chynoweth-No meetings.

MAL-Lauren Malec-Nothing new. Cleaning at the London Leather Studio.

New Business

Kim is looking for uses of her older, unused oil tanned hide. Lauren learned CSCL has a $100 fee for general estate estimates and in the future to contact Lauch.

Motion by Kim to adjourn. Seconded. Carried (8:41 p.m.).
