Minutes of the Last Meeting(s)

Motion by Lauren that the Minutes of the Last Meeting (September 30, 2022) be accepted as read by Lauren.

Seconded by Kim. Carried.

Business Arising from the Minutes of the Last Meeting

a) Thank you to Kim who made and emailed the Virtual Annual Certificates. Recipients can print their
certificates if desired.

b) Thank you to Eugene for posting the winning articles photos and participants photos links on CSCL
Facebook.

c) 15 MINUTE GUEST SPOT: Jim Wilkes is a winner of a Craftsman Ribbon and the Woodstock Heritage Award
for his Bible Cover (see also CANADIAN LEATHERCRAFT, M-J-J-A 2021), a custom designed carving for a
repeat customer, an Anglican Church Canon now a Bishop of Manitoba. Made of 3-4 oz veg tan, Jim used
Neatsfoot Oil, LCI Clear-lac, medium brown wax paste and acrylic paints. The interior lining is calf leather
and kangaroo lacing was used for the double loop laced edge where Jim prefers 3-hole corners each twice
laced. Thank you to Jim for his patience with tonight’s videoconference difficulties.

d) Outside CSCL - EXECUTIVE LIST OF INTERESTING LEATHERCRAFT RESOURCES: no updates.

e) Inside CSCL - website/Facebook, book reports/YouTube: nothing new.

f) Tool Sales: Barbara will email and publish a list from Lauch and his ‘ask’ for tools. Members welcome.

g) SAFETY RULES FOR WORKSHOPS: no report.

h) Correspondence: Lauch replied to Bruce Hennessey (sp) who is trying to set up a leathercraft business.

Reports

a) 1st Vice President - Jim Wilkes - No Report.

b) Council of Fellows - Lauch Harrison spoke to Sean - No report.

c) Treasurer’s Report - Barbara Chynoweth spoke to Della - No changes from last month.

d) Newsletter - Barbara Chynoweth - S-O-N-D news due early December. Please send more news to Barbara.

e) ECO - Eugene Pik - photos and links have been posted to Facebook.

f) Membership - Kim Winchester - No changes.

g) Library - Paul Kitchener - No Report.

h) Workshop Program - Lauch Harrison/Jim Wilkes/Lester Pinter - Lauch is finishing a clutch purse to photo.

i) Privacy Officer - Lauch Harrison - No Report.

j) Correspondence - Barbara Chynoweth - No Report.

Branch Reports

Hamilton-Lauchlan Harrison-No October meeting; will meet next week with focus on wallet interiors.

Mississauga-Jim Wilkes-Kim is assembling a wallet kit for next meeting.

Norland-Barbara Chynoweth-Met Oct. 15 and worked on clutch purse. Next meeting is Nov. 12 at church hall and will use that TV to watch leather video and have Christmas party.

MAL-Lauren Malec- Nothing new.
