Norland · first recorded holding office in 1982

President of the Norland Branch in 1982 and 1983, she was named to the Society's roll of Ontario Volunteer Service Award recipients. She made a square for the CSCL Leather Quilt. She wrote for the newsletter — a beginners' guide to carving in 1983, signed “E. Windatt”, and verse. Known to the branch as 'Auntie Em,' she brought poetry, dancing and enthusiasm to the Society's Annual weekends, and died around 2009.

    Named on the Society's roll of Ontario Volunteer Service Award recipients.
  • Ontario Volunteer Service Award 2003
    One of six named at the 53rd Annual General Meeting, Norland Branch; biographies read by members called on by Dorothy McPherson. The date of the official presentation had not yet been announced on this page. Presented at the North East presentations in Peterborough, 30 September 2003 (newsletter 2003-fall p6, "CSCL Members in the News"); she was reported just out of hospital and on the mend after a recent illness. A profile in newsletter 2003-04-winter pp4-5 has her a Norland Branch member for 25 years (joined 1978), first taught by Hilda Chynoweth around 1973; she served as President of the Norland Leather Guild and spearheaded the restoration of "Ye Olde Jail House" in Coboconk (officially Canada's Smallest Jail), for which she received a citation and lapel pin from the Ontario Heritage Foundation, and co-ordinated it with New Horizons for 8 years.
