The election notice prints “Mrs. Jean Carroll, London, Ontario”; the register publishes Joan Carroll, whose given name comes from the newsletter’s own parenthesis at Winter 1959, page 7. Whether Jean is the Society’s slip for Joan, or a second Carroll in London, is unsettled.

President of the London Branch in 1959 and an Associate of the Society from 1961, her work won Western Fair prizes across the 1960s and 1970s, including three placings each in 1962, 1964 and 1969, and a Craftsman Award in 1969. Her work won Second and Third Place awards in the Canadian National Exhibition's Women's Division in 1973.

From Spring 1963, page 7; Fall 1969, page 5; Summer 1969, page 6; and Fall 1973, page 9.
