Executive Meeting
Friday November 27, 2015

Those in attendance: Tracey Howard, Jim Wilkes, Barbara Chynoweth, Della Chynoweth, Paul Kitchener,
Nancy Durham, Madeleine Mitchell, Lauchlan Harrison, Rob Regan, Eugene Pik.

Call to order: Meeting to order 7:48
Della Chynoweth moved that we accept the minutes of the September 25, 2015 and the October 23, 2015
meetings as circulated. Seconded by Barbara Chynoweth. Carried.
Business Arising from the last meeting
Annual 2016 – Nothing new working on it!
Biennial News – Madeleine Mitchell reported the Woodstock Art Gallery has accepted our proposal and have
booked us for Nov 26, 2015 through January 21, 2017 in the same Gallery we had last time. They have requested
we have a Workshop in January 2017. We have to decide if it is going to be a juried show or educational or both
and if we are going to have a theme for it. The workshop will be advertised as a general population workshop not
just members.
Constitution Committee- An email was received from Lauren McPherson in regard to the revisions to the
Constitution circulated. Paul Kitchener will contact Lauren and discuss these points with her. Other discussion d
on the size of the Board and quorums took place. Further discussion on the Constitution was tabled until January
meeting.
Reports
• 1st Vice President – Jim Wilkes – No Report.
• 2nd Vice President – Lauch Harrison – No Report
• Council of Fellows – No Report –
• Treasurer’s Report – Della Chynoweth - Madeleine Mitchell presented a bill for the Bulletin and Mileage.
Bills from last month for Mileage bill for Nancy Durham and Barbara Chynoweth for the printing of the
Annual reports for $39.55. Lauchlan Harrison moved that these bills be paid. Seconded by Tracey
Howard. Carried.
• Bulletin – Madeleine Mitchell -The Fall Bulletin is out included a tribute to Joyce Scruton and info from
Norland. The next bulletin will be out in February and Madeleine will see who is next to help with it and
let them know.
• Web – There seems to be a misunderstanding in regard to what we are asking Eugene Pik to do. We are
not trying to replace Kristi Cino or Madeleine Mitchell in there rolls in Web/Facebook/Bulletin. We are
asking Eugene to help with the use of Media as he has the expertise to make these thing work.
• Membership – Barbara Chynoweth- We have a 2 new member from Pembroke and Brantford. A
membership list was circulated by email. Please check it out and send changes to Barbara Chynoweth.
• Library – Paul Kitchener – Lauren has been using the Library. Suggested promoting it your branch
members.

• Correspondence – Madeleine Mitchell received a letter in regard to the Ontario Volunteer Awards which she passed on to Barbara Chynoweth.
• Workshop – Jim Wilkes reported we had 11 members participate instructors were Paul Kitchener, Sean Dalghetty and Lauch Harrison. We made $660.00 on the workshop Paul donated the material that was used. Next workshop will be in January on Machine sewing May 1 or 2. First one for beginners second one to create something. Paul will check with Karen Webber and get this set up and the information out to everyone.
Branch Reports
Hamilton – Lauchlan Harrison – Have had a couple of good meetings. Working on mitered edges, sewing edges and they have come up with a clamp to hold the box while being sewn.
Mississauga – Jim Wilkes – Worked on making a Texas Billfold. Christmas party will be week at the Pump House Grill.
Norland – Tracey Howard – Worked on Dream Catchers and little purses to sell. Several practised carving we have a couple of new members. The Norland members would like to do lasted boxes in the new year.
New Business
Email – An email received from Lauren McPherson with a letter from Marion Kehoe. Discussion was had on the content and was tabled until January 2016.
